10 Ways to Reclaim Your Energy

Over the course of my self-discovery journey, one of the biggest takeaways was that I had to reclaim my energy in order to feel any sense of happiness. I was an ultra people pleaser and didn’t value myself in the same way I valued others. I thought this is what it meant to be a good person. I thought I was being a hero.

What I learned instead was that I was giving all of my energy away without investing even a single bit into myself. I often agreed to things just to make another person happy, even though it didn’t bring any joy to me. I was stuck in old and outdated habits, but didn’t have that energy to make a change.

It wasn’t until I reclaimed my energy that I truly reaped the benefits of this journey.

Here are 10 ways in which I have reclaimed my energy in order to live the life of my dreams:

1. Stop trying to give people advice who are not looking for it

I know you’re wanting to help, but perhaps it’s a way to cope with the fact that you’re not actually able to help yourself

2. Forgive for your own sake

It’s actually weird that we hold on to anger and resentment for as long as we do because it can make us physically ill from the added stress we are unknowingly carrying. Forgive because you deserve to be without that burden.

3. Let go

Let go of all that is not serving you. If it only drains you, but hardly, if ever, pours onto you as you do onto them, then that is not a good ROI on your energy. Let it go.

4. Create boundaries

Sometimes it’s hard to let it go. Sometimes those people are family and sometimes that makes it harder to let go. That being said, creating boundaries may be the most necessary step here. Protect your energy in a loving way, from your loved ones.

5. Give and take

Every person you cross paths is an opportunity to view one of the tiny lenses from a unique part of the world. And you have an opportunity to show them your lenses from a unique part of your world. Share your truth and move on. We are meant to have common interests, but not all interests are common.

6. Say no

This especially goes out to my fellow people-pleasers. Just say no with grace. They will understand and if they don’t, they’re not for you. Say no when your energy doesn’t line up with your intentions.

7. Practice self care

Is it even a full article if I don’t hype up self care? Self care leads to self love. And when you love yourself, the whole world loves you back. It’s honestly magic.

8. Upgrade your habits

We get so comfortable in our current habits, regardless of how outdated they are because we fear “new.” We fear the unknown. The ego hates change, but the soul craves and welcomes it. We are not beings that are meant to live in one space for the entirety of our lives.

9. Move your body

You know I am all in favor of having a healthy balance between the triage of mind, body and soul. Move your body and whichever way serves you.

10. Do the things you love

You know the things you have inexplicable love for? They are not a coincidence, they are a part of your calling. Tune out the noise from the world so you can tune in to what those things are. And make the time to put into them.

Thank you for reading! I appreciate all of you who reach out to me week after week to show your support and talk about how much you relate to my posts. I started this blog to share my journey and it’s amazing to connect with you all.

Love & Light,
